![]() Finally i don't know if anyone here has seen the book The Beatles Gear (i forget the authors names) but it is amazing. On the other hand if the owner of Peter Green's les paul decides he doesn't want it anymore i could look after it for him. ![]() The current range of budget Gretsches can be souped up to sound far more "expensive" than they are. Ultimately it's what sounds good to you and how comfortable you find the guitar isn't it ? Just coz it's expensive and has a brand name doesn't make it good. I'm sure there are better guitars but personally i find it hard to argue with the guitars on Revolver. George used his a lot from Revolver thru Pepper and Paul used his from the Help album to this day. The casino was Lennon's main guitar from Revolver to the end of the Beatles along with his gibson acoustic. ![]() I am not an expert, i just play'em but that occasion made me very impressed with the epi i had. The gibson was just better made and had better tuners etc. I didn't think the difference was £1500+. One time i hired a "proper" gibson les paul and recorded at a professional studio at volume with both. I've been playing an epiphone les paul for over 15 years now. ![]() They upped their game in the 90's and for the most part their guitars are good value. I love the epiphone guitars i have played. ![]()
